We're home from our first vacation of the summer - a driving trip to Utah. First stop, a play in the pool and dinner at the buffet in Mesquite, NV.
One of the highlights - seeing Eastside High School, where Dad (Kalvin) went to high school. It's the place that HIGH SCHOOL MUSICAL was filmed!!! And guess what - they were filming #3 while we were there!!! We snuck into the school & went into the gym, where they were giving all the "extras" their instructions.
Then we got kicked out. Bummer. But outside we chatted it up with Darren, who plays some character in the movies, and got a picture with him.
We also had to be really sneaky while trying to take this picture of the front of the school - there's a banner up that definitely spoils the plot of #3, but hey - you can't read the words on it, can you?!?!?
We toured the Sweets candy factory,
Ate at the Lion House, hung out around the temple,
toured the Conference Center, pretended the girls were getting married,
and then just got too hot and pooped out!

Wow! You guys had a great trip! Leave it up to the Davies family to find all the very best things to do... I'd like to find that candy factory and what fun sneaking into the movie!!!!

What I fun trip fellow Wildcats. We journeyed to SLC in Dec and drove by East High and told the kids that was where it was filmed. I think our groupies were too young to put it together. Funny. #3? Will it ever end? What a great lookin' family! Can't wait to see you guys again.

My kids are so jealous. We blew up the pictures to read the sign on East High and couldn't get the hint!! PLEASE share!! Inquiring minds are dying to know!

I'm not even going to let my girls see this blog. The first round of tears would be because Whitney & Cassidy were here and they didn't get to see them! The next round would be because Whitney & Cassidy got to go to East High WHILE THEY WERE MAKING THE MOVIE! The third round would be because they NEVER get to do anything fun! I just don't have the energy.
