This day

I've had it! I'm totally going to vent about this day - from before dawn until after dark.

So, the alarm clock DOESN'T go off this morning at 3:45am, but miraculously Kalvin wakes up at 4:16am. His driver is already waiting in the driveway. He doesn't even have time to shower (sorry to spread the news Kalvin!) before frantically taking off at 4:25am. No problem - he catches his plane to SF and tonight is on his way to DC. Bummer that today in SF he was meeting with a client and a big wig partner! And no, he won't be home until Thursday night. I don't think I can make it this week...

Because of the panic with Kalvin leaving, etc., I have a hard time getting back to sleep, so I am laying in bed staring at the ceiling at 5:30am when Cassidy comes running past my bed into our bathroom and throws up in the toilet. In the next hour she barfs about 15 more times, then finally falls asleep after Whitney has joined us in my bed and the TV is on.

Whitney convinces me to let her stay home from school today because she will be such a big help and play with Tressa and "clean up the yard." I'm sick of her begging and too tired to put up a good fight, so I cave.

The rest of the day goes as follows - tv, barf, tv, potty on the floor (I'm in the middle of potty-training Tressa, and YES, I know she should already be potty-trained by now), then poor Cassidy, it starts coming out the back end. More tv, barf and everything else all over my house, kids that are driving me and each other crazy, and I've had it!!!

2 good things happened today. First, Mindi stopped by to watch (from a distance) Cass & Tressa so I could run Whitney by the pediatrician's office, and YES, this nasty infection that she got is clearing up! And the #2 good thing - I haven't cried yet!

Of course this all happens when Kalvin is out of town - isn't that the way it ALWAYS goes? You deserve a bath & a good cry . . . and some chocolate! Hugs from me!

Brynn, I hate days like that! I'm glad that Cassidy is getting better, hopefully everyone else stays healthy and we can get together this week while our husbands are traveling. Oh, did it go well with the big whigs in San Fran?

Yuk! That is the worst thing about being a mother. (Except for the coming out the other end.) Or having to clean up after the dog. Ha. M

Not ot be discouraging but Lauren had the bug, it took her about 10 days to get comepletely over it. On the bright side Micah had it for two... go figure! I hope you're all feeling better soon. Next time you need to be the one out of town :)

What a hellacious DAY! So sorry for you & your family. Makes you grateful for the non-eventful, boring days, huh? Thank goodness for a sister nearby to help in times like these. If I were near you, I'd get you a Pink Berry with fruity pepples!!

Sounds like a crazy day. But if it's any consolation, I had a great dinner and conversation with Kalvin here in DC at the Ritz!

Oh man-- I am feeling your pain. I hope the bug is gone from the Davies family. It's summer... there's no sickness in summer! It's pools, beaches...play time!!
